Website Design

Whether you’re trying to sell more widgets, advertise your services, or distribute information to your community, having a website is critical for continued success and growth. But you know that. That’s why you’re here.

So why have me build your new site? The websites I build are simple, straightforward, and easy to use — not the over-animated, hyperactive sites that are currently in fashion. Those sites are designed to win marketing awards. My sites are designed to let people get things done without all the fuss.

Building a website is complicated, but it doesn’t have to be intimidating. Rest assured that you’ll always get straightforward, easy to understand explanations — I won’t bury you in tech jargon or funny acronyms.

What’s involved with getting a new site?

Getting a new site is actually pretty straightforward. We’ll work together to make sure your new site is tailored to your needs, easy to use, and reflects the image you’re trying to project.

Here’s what we’ll do:

  1. We’ll discuss your needs, and decide on a domain name (www.mysite.com)
  2. You provide me the content you want on the site (text, photos, etc.)
  3. I’ll come up with a way to best to organize the content
  4. I’ll present some layout and design choices for your approval
  5. I’ll build the site
  6. Launch!

That’s it. Not too bad, huh? If you need someone to keep the site updated and running smoothly, I can do that, too.

How long will all this take?

It depends on the site, of course, and how much content you have ready to go, but a basic eight - ten page site typically takes about six weeks from start to finish.

How much will it cost?

Well, it depends. I know that’s not satisfying, but the ultimate cost depends on how large the site is, if you want any whiz-bang features, and whether you’re trying to sell things online. I’ll be happy to put together a no-obligation proposal for you after chatting about the specifics.

I had put this off for a very long time for fear of what that experience would be like.  Immediately, Martin walked me through the process and made clear all that was involved.
